The story our class tackled last few days ago are "Summer Solstice" and "Love in the Cornhusks" both of them are love related stories.
For my opinion Summer Solstice has a very different setting compared to the Love in the Cornhusks because the lead characters in Summer Solstice are rich or high class people. Compared to Love in the Cornhusk the lead character is striving for survival. Some how the similarities of the story is that both of the leading characters seek love. It is just the status that makes the difference in the ending but both of the leading characters want something. In Summer Solstice she seek power and superiority while in Love in the Cornhusks she seek comfort and safety.
The culture in both stories are really far apart. In Summer Solstice they have similarities with western culture while in Love in the Cornhusk seems to be local. That is why in Summer Solstice it seem like she want a higher-dimensional life. It also look really unbalance compared to Love in the Cornhusks that there are symbols that represent balance. In our world today balance is really important therefore the story "love in the Cornhusks" is really a good example for a positive story. The ending might be bad compared to Summer Solstice but the deeper meaning makes the story a good ending.
